Schwinn and BMX Conversion Headset, Use Your 1 1/8” Fork With 1” Head
tube Frame. This will also fit old school BMX frames but please measure
to confirm the 32.7mm inside diameter head tube. For threadless forks, and external cup frames. Color is Black. This is a conversion headset for vintage Schwinn frames and BMX frames made from 1950 to 1980. It is machined to fit what is known as a 1” steer tube, actual machined diameter of the headset is 32.7 mm, or 1.287”. This will allow a normal press fit, and matches the original size Schwinn steel cup dimensions. These are made from lightweight aluminum alloy. This is a modern sealed bearing headset. The bearings are a standard size and everything is here, including the crown race, star nut, and top cap. Use of this item requires some experience and technical skills. These headsets should be installed by an experienced bicycle mechanic. This will not fit modern road bikes, which use a smaller 30.2mm size, Please measure first. Installation requires a headset press. There are no returns for parts which have been installed. I will try to answer all questions. Please ask questions before buying, thanks!
