I had this Made in U.S.A. (Washington) Klein Rascal Mountain Bike custom ordered/built/assembled back in 1991. I remember it like it was yesterday. I am the original owner, and I only used it for only one year back then...seriously (a huge gap in time before taking up mountain biking again...I know!). It has been in my office ever since. It still has the original Smoke tires that actually still work good (no kidding!), and one of the first front shocks on the market....and best.... Manitou. It has only two noticable scratches on it, but really are not cognisant (in my humble opinion....especially compared to my Yeti, which has at least a dozen scratches and for being one year old). I did have this bike recently at one event, and it attracted a lot of attention...people couldn't take their eyes off it. Some even gave me offers, but I wasn't interested in parting with at the time. And now, the time has come. And it deserves to be with the new lucky owner. This is the way bikes were built back then, and they don't make them like that anymore. She's a beaut. If there are ANY questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.I will have this professionally disassembled, and professionally carefully packaged by a qualified bike technician. This disassembly, packing, and shipping, I will personally include within the price (all included). Unfortunately, I don't have the original box (you will be getting Specialized box). I will start this process upon purchase, and it will take approximately 5 days before shipping, and soon it will arrive at your door.
Had this Klein Mountain Bike custom ordered/built/assembled while I lived in San Luis Obispo, CA from Cambria Bike, back in 1992.
Custom powder coated
All original components, including the original wheels and tires.
Shimano Deore XT Components
SS-5 Dia Compe brakes
Original Cook Brothers Racing Cranks
Original Chain
First generation Manitou shock forks (includes the original fax copy from the manufacutre on thermal paper)
Model is the Rascal.
Powder Coat is extrememly durable; only two scratches visable (see four quadrant photo,....one scratch is duplicated for a closer look). The bike is in excellent condition for it's age, and the scratches are not noticable (depending on the owner, of course).
