Vintage 1997 Specialized S-Works M2 hardtail mountain bike in size 17.5 (M). One owner, 5' 8" 160 lbs. This setup fits me perfectly, but would likely work well with minor adjustments for riders 5' 7" to 5' 9". In fair cosmetic condition, and very good mechanical condition. Tuned and ready to ride, except for any personal fit adjustments. NOTE

**(See last photo) The top cap nut edges for the oil chamber on the left leg are rounded off a bit from being opened/closed with an adjustable wrench. The metal on this cap was just too soft to withstand more than a few open/close cycles. Cap is still completely functional and can be opened and closed with gentle use of a plumber's wrench or vise grip. The Air cap screws onto the top via the threads in the Schrader valve.

The Specialized S-Works M2 hardtail was used by numerous pros (e.g. John Tomac) and amateurs alike to win races in '97-'98. The stiff M2 Metal Matrix frame makes it a fantastic climber with a 12-32 8 speed rear cassette and triple chainrings up front. Descends and corners well too - a bunny-hopper, for sure.
Would be an awesome first mountain bike for a teenager, or someone who wants to give MTB riding a try without springing for a brand new bike.
