1997 KLEIN ADROIT KOI – CUSTOM BUILD FROM FUSELAGE 1997 – VERY RARE – COLLECTOR QUALITY Purchased from an authorized dealer in 1997 and custom built to spec. Some more for aesthetics and some for performance . Only one owner and a great opportunity to own this rare bike in “as new” conditions since, put simply, I have always had more money than time. The bike was built for extreme use but a change in time demands with my own corporation resulted in a move back to the city and subsequent changes i.e. marriage and family If I remember correctly it is a Large frame (I am 5’11”). Very light and simply awesome to get on and the Koi finish, well that goes without saying . . . simply breathtaking. It has been stored inside climate controlled environment in my “bike and sports room”. Never once taken out other than a couple pre-rides at build and of course and unfortunately for me, never to the trails as intended. Recent Updates and Renewals: Last year in anticipation of a life change I updated her tires to Continental der baron projekt 2.4 tires , a new Selle blaster seat in matching yellow, iSSI Flip Combination Pedals and added a mount to use my Wahoo off my road bike in hopes to have time to ride but acquisition of another company and three boys has hindered that. Much of the details and options are easily determined by the photos but from memory it seems the Fuselage was about $3500.00 and included • Adroit Gradient Frame in Koi Metallic Finish • Rock Shock Judy • Klein MC2 Mission Control Integrated Handlebar Assy • Thompson Elite Seat Post From memory again, the build additions, • Magura Hydraulic Brakes (the only variance from the full XTR build • Full XTR (except above noted) • Wheels: custom build from Mavic: SUP 217 559x17 6106 (made in France) • iSSI Flip Pedals now replace the original yellow clipless pedals once installed • ControlTech ultra light bar ends • Selle Blaster Pro Leather Seat / also includes vintage Avocet Air O2 Air 40R Seat (Yellow Match) Every addition was in consideration of keeping the ultra light weight in check with the only exception being the Magura’s which were, at the time, the performance craze and certainly the color didn’t hurt the build. I do remember it requiring some custom build fittings to keep the hydraulic hoses taught inside the frame tube so not to rattle but they were successfully ran through the tube and perform well. Includes original point of sale packet and some sealed packets/accessories that may have come with my Attitude. Klein Original Owners Manual, Warranty Card and Judy Manual, Magura Original Manual and other applicable docs that are in original Klein cloth bag. There are some additional XTR boxes/parts as well. One is a remote for the rapid fire XTR I believe The only debris in image details is what remains of old White Lighting lube or dust. I have listed the bike at a fair ask considering the rarity, cost of build and condition. Kudos to those that are professional riders and know these bikes . . . it was something I really wanted to do as well but I instead ended up staying with exotic cars with my time to limited spins on my road bike. This being said, I respectfully bidders please refrain from granting me an education re the bike. If you could have or can build it better then you are certainly the person I’d love to see own it. SHIPPING: If in the southeast or Atlanta area you can certainly pick it up free of charge. I have listed an estimated cost to properly and carefully wrap and box (secured bike box from a local vendor) the bike for shipment via courier insured. If the cost is significantly off in my favor I will refund any portion thereof.
