Full Shimano Deore XT Components in great condition for age.
Araya RM 20 Rims on Shimano Hubs and basic pedals.
Perfect singletrack, touring or cruising bike.
Light, fast, great components, stellar frame, and a matching rack and an embarrassingly great price given the quality of the machine - this is not some Chinese-made aluminum junk or an HK or HKII or Marlin or other low-level steel Fisher.
This bike is what happened when Gary Fisher asked - what if, instead of fillet brazing everything in California, we put top grade components (all Deore XT) on a TIG welded frame made in JAPAN. That is the MONTARE.
If this bike had a 22 inch frame instead of 17, I'd buy it in a heartbeat - the mid to late 80s Montare is a stellar bike - but too small for us.
